Which vegan bag to choose?

Choosing a vegan bag relies on criteria of materials, provenance, and design. Lubay is the only Belgian brand of vegan bags combining contemporary design with full production in Belgium and the exclusive use of European next-gen vegan materials.
Each model is designed, developed, and made in the Lubay studio-atelier, in Belgium, following a structured approach where form and structure come first. This article presents a selection of models according to the brand's typology to help identify the silhouette, size, and ways to wear suited to each use.
The three directions
At Lubay, design does not start from an external reference but from a shape thought out from the inside. Each bag is constructed from its own proportions and fits into one of the brand's three directions:
WAVES: The top line curves, reaches a peak, and returns. A continuous movement that defines the silhouette.
CURVES: Angles treated in discreet curves. Clear volume, no sharp edges. The curve is always in the lower part.
LINES: Lines that structure without weighing down. Balanced proportions.

1. Handbags
Scaldis M — Waves — daily size
The top line of the Scaldis M draws a discreet wave, a continuous movement that gives the bag its recognisable silhouette. Its volume relies on a balance between functionality and sharpness. It integrates fixed handles for a stable grip as well as a removable strap to switch from hand carrying to shoulder or crossbody wear.
Ways to wear: hand, shoulder, crossbody.
Formal direction: Waves.

Mosa — Waves — daily size
Mosa is a vertical bag, whose top line curves in the center before returning straight. Its verticality creates a clear presence. The proportions, slightly taller than long, define a different interpretation of volume. It integrates a fixed bridge handle and a removable strap for shoulder or crossbody wear.
Ways to wear: hand, shoulder, crossbody.
Formal direction: Waves.

Ieper 25 — Lines — daily size
Ieper 25 is defined by straight lines, without any curved elements. The silhouette relies on its proportions and on the tension between its faces. A compact size that focuses on the essential. Carried by hand or on the shoulder, it gains fluidity without losing its structure. The included removable and adjustable strap also allows for crossbody wear.
Ways to wear: hand, shoulder, crossbody.
Formal direction: Lines.

Ieper 30 — Lines — spacious size
Ieper 30 extends the same formal logic as Ieper 25: straight lines, assertive proportions. Its generous volume facilitates the organization of an entire day. Documents, phone, keys, and cards find their place in an organized and clear interior. Carried by hand, on the shoulder, or crossbody thanks to its included removable and adjustable strap.
Ways to wear: hand, shoulder, crossbody.
Formal direction: Lines.

2. Crossbody and shoulder bags
Hagna — Curves — daily size
The bottom of Hagna describes a half-moon, where the rounded base opposes the soft curve of the top. This tension and slight asymmetry define the silhouette. The volume fits close to the body. Worn on the shoulder or crossbody, Hagna offers direct access to its content and follows the rhythm of daily life.
Ways to wear: shoulder, crossbody.
Formal direction: Curves.

Ieper 30 — Lines — spacious size
(This model in straight lines fits into both typologies thanks to its dimensions adapted to professional needs, the laptop version is made-to-measure).
Ways to wear: hand, shoulder, crossbody.
Formal direction: Lines.
Lint — Lines — ample size
Lint is defined by straight lines and balanced proportions, without curves or ornaments. The tension of its horizontal lines creates a sober, geometric, and immediately clear silhouette. Its spacious size offers a generous volume in a structured yet lightweight form. The bag retains its visual sharpness, even when filled. Worn on the shoulder and crossbody, it remains close to the body.
Ways to wear: shoulder, crossbody.
Formal direction: Lines.
